German housing supply is not keeping pace with needs- institute/IVD
Germany will need around 400, 000 new housing units every year up until 2025, more than double the number currently being constructed, according to a survey by the Eduard Pestel Institute based in Hanover. The German realtor group IVD also warned of a shortage of residential housing, saying the lack of construction implies that vacant apartment housing in some west German cities is likely to fall below 1%.
