Spanish draft REIT's legislation still has a long way to go
Even if the Spanish government hopes that the introduction of REIT/SOCIMIs, announced hurriedly late last year, will improve competition in the Spanish quoted property sector and give a fresh impulse to rental markets, specialists at a recent conference said the structure as drafted requires significant amendments before it will attract broad interest.
