MIPIM 2009: European property stuck, waiting for market clearing
The key question for mainland European investment real estate at MIPIM in Cannes last week was if banks will continue to ignore covenant breaches and roll over financing to support institutional property owners, or whether - and if so, when - they will begin to call loans. Before that happens, specialists say, market clearing prices will not be reached.
