Segurfondo Inversion becomes 2nd Spanish RE fund to close
Segurfondo Inversion, managed by Inverseguros, became the second Spanish property investment fund to request a two-year redemption freeze from Spain's market regulator as it faced outstanding redemption requests for e586m, or 96.8% of its value, in March. Shareholders include a number of insurers: Spain's Mapfre and Nacional de Reaseguros; the Netherland's Aegón; Germany's Allianz and Switzerland's Zurich - as well as public guarantee fund Consorcio de Compensación de Seguros.
