European property to return to normal only after 2010 - Aberdeen Property Investors
Commercial property markets in Europe face a challenging time in 2009 and 2010, and more attractive returns are expected after 2010, when economic recovery should gain pace, and property lending returns to normal, according to Aberdeen Property Investors. In its latest Global Market Outlook, the group says yields will adjust further in the short term but in some markets such as the UK, they have already moved above trend and now look attractive. Nevertheless, values will remain under pressure for some time due to declining rents. The outlook for mature markets on the European continent is relatively sound due to fewer macro-economic imbalances and the absence of an excessive construction pipeline.
