Kyiv office negative net absorption may abate
After bearing the full brunt of the global economic contraction last fall, office market in the Ukrainian capital of Kyiv has collapsed. But a new report by realtor CB Richard Ellis says negative net absorption will abate toward end-year. Leasing in 1H09 slowed significantly, and uncertainties over future rents also encouraged users to wait and see. Consequently, total take-up for the six months amounted to only 25,000 sq.m., a 32% fall on 1H08. Development completions over 1H09 totalled 53,000 sq.m. (see upcoming issues for full story)
