Unibail eyes Simon's European portfolio, to exit FBI status
French-Dutch retail mall giant Unibail-Rodamco is in negotiation with US REIT Simon Property to purchase over e1bn in assets from the latter's shopping centre portfolio in Europe, according to media reports. Separately, the group announced it will exit from the Dutch FBI/REIT fiscal regime at the start of 2010, and retain only its French SIIC/REIT status. (See PFE 147; now online)
