Germany's Pfandbrief group criticises Fitch negative watch
The negative ratings watch action placed by Fitch Ratings this week on mortgage Pfandbrief covered bonds is not a reflection of a decline in quality of the securities or their underlying collateral, says the German Pfandbrief Bank association (VDP). President Henning Rasche said it in no way reflects a fall in Pfandbrief quality but is based on a review of Fitch models. He called the timing incomprehensible.
