Ukraine construction almost halves in 2009
Construction volume in the Ukraine fell by almost a half last year, hit by the nation's internal financial and political turmoil as well as the global economic crisis. The total value slid 48.2% from 2008 to UAH37.9bn ($4.7bn) an even deeper decline than the 15.8% seen in 2008, the state Statistics Committee reported.
