New '09 property fund capital falls 60% - INREV
Capital raised for European property funds fell by 60% in 2009 to under E6bn, says the association INREV. But this year, new capital is estimated to reach E11bn. The INREV Capital Raising Survey 2009, released at its annual meeting in Venice, showed that new fund capital last year was down sharply from E14.8bn in 2008. "Fund managers and investors have been engaged in due diligence for new funds and we expect to see the fruits of that in 2010,"said Lonneke Löwik, INREV Director of Research.
