Tax on rents proposed to finance Grand Paris
The French listed property association has floated the idea of a new tax based on rental value as a way of financing the Grand Paris for the transformation of the Paris region. Expanding on an idea he proposed at PIE's French Property Breakfast two weeks ago, FSIF president Jean-Paul Dumortier told a dinner-debate organised by the European American Chamber of Commerce that the Grand Paris project could be financed by a levy on rental value, and some or all could be offset to the tenant.
