NYC-based Apollo acquires Citi Property Investors
International private equity group Apollo has acquired Citi Property Investors, the real estate investment management unit of Citigroup, through its Apollo Global Real Estate Management unit. CPI has some $3bn under management. Terms were not disclosed. CPI was, in 2008, instrumental in funding Gazit Globe founder Chaim Katzman in a takeover of Austrian listed CEE retail property investor Meinl European Land after a corporate governnance scandal - renaming it Atrium European Real Estate.
