French govt, region agree Grand Paris transport network
The French government and Paris Ile-de-France have agreed new transport networks as part of the Grand Paris urban renewal project, notably the 150km driverless metro system. The outline, dubbed Grand Paris Express, combines the government's ambitious figure-eight network and the region's more modest Arc Express. The plan will serve some 50 stations including Versailles, La Défense and all main airports.
