New German fund rules may help re-openings as inflows dive
With the recent European property market pick-up and prices rising, BVI Board Member and SEB Asset Management Chairperson Barbara Knoflach sees better prospects for raising liquidity to allow the re-opening of currently closed German open-end property funds. Net capital inflows to GOEFs last year were E1.6bn, half of the 2009 total. Average total return was a negative 1.3%.
