Before joining in May 2007, Mr. Aaronson was MD with Morgan Stanley Real Estate Funds in Frankfurt - responsible for investments in Germany, Holland, CEE and Russia – and in Milan. Prior posts included European Real Estate Head for CSFB in London, a principal with Hanford Healy in San Francisco, and with the US Federal Savings and Loan Insurance Corp, later RTC, in Washington D.C. He began his career in Atlanta, Georgia.

Mr. Bennett is an English Chartered Surveyor and has been based in Hungary since 1991. In 2008, he joined Europa Capital’s Emerging Europe Fund which specialises in Ukraine, Romania, Bulgaria and the Western Balkans.

Mr. Bentley recently joined Helaba as Head of Real Estate Finance London and is responsible for all aspects of UK RE finance. He has worked on a wide range of financing transactions across both the UK and Europe and has many years of experience in the industry, most recently as Director of International Real Estate for Deutsche Pfandbriefbank.

Besson was MD of Hammerson France from 2001 to 2006, responsible for a ¤2.2bn real estate portfolio and operations. She also provides consultancy to developers and investors, assisting them in defining and implementing their strategic plans. An engineer ESGT (Conservatoire National des Arts et Métiers), he is qualified in DESS urbanism and local development from the Institut d'études politiques de Paris.

PHILIPPE CHAIX

M. Chaix was first appointed to head La Défense and Seine-Arche in October 2008 by the Minister of State for the Environment, Energy, Sustainable Development and Regional Development, renewed at the creation of EPADESA last November. A graduate of ENA, he has worked as an international lawyer with the Cabinet Desfilis, Chaix et associé law firm, and spent most of his career in the prefectural service. He joined the staff of the mayor of Paris in 1986 and was elected a Paris city councillor from 1989 to 2002.

ALAIN CHAUSSARD

French REIT/SIIC Affine is a property investor with holdings in Paris, French regions, and Belgium (through Banimmo). With gross assets of ¤1.1bn, it focuses on high-yield investments. M. Chaussard is a graduate of the most prestigious engineering school École Centrale de Paris, and Institut d’études politiques, among others. He holds a Masters in mathematics and a postgraduate degree in finance. After a career in banking, he joined Affine as deputy CEO in 1998 and has been its vice-chairman since 2000.

SERGIO CHIAMPARINO
Mayor of Torino

Sergio Chiamparino was born in 1948. He holds a degree in Political Science with an econometrics thesis on the labour market. He worked for some years as a university researcher at the Cognetti De Martiis Laboratory of Political Economics at the Political Science Faculty of Torino; co-ordinator of the programme for Regione Piemonte from 1975 to 1979. He was a member of the Board of Directors of the Istituto Bancario San Paolo di Torino from 1978 to 1980. He then held numerous political and trade union offices until being elected to Parliament in 1996, and was a member of the Budget Commission of the Chamber of Deputies for five years. He was elected Mayor of Torino in 2001 and re-elected in 2006. He is currently national President of the ANCI (Italian association of municipalities).

Paolo Corradini was born in Rome in 1949 and graduated in architecture from the Politecnico di Torino in 1975. His career began at the Piedmont Regional Land Planning Council. Following this experience he became Director of the Social Housing Committee of Turin and was then appointed Director of ITP - Invest in Torino Piemonte, the agency to facilitate foreign investments in the region. Since 2007, he has been Head of Public Affairs for the Lavazza Group, a leading Italian coffee company. In this role he will oversee the planning and construction work of the new Lavazza Headquarters in Turin.

ProLogis is a leading provider of distribution facilities, with more than 44m sq.m. of space across the globe. Mr. Cox specialises in sustainability and advises on environmental stewardship throughout Europe. He joined ProLogis in 2006 and has managed several flagship sustainable developments including a 624,000 sq.ft. distribution facility for Sainsburys supermarkets, and large centres for Royal Mail and for the Co-operative Group in Glasgow. He has 15 years’ experience as project manager on developments including mixed-use, retail and hotels.

Headquartered in Los Angeles, CBRE is the world’s largest commercial real estate services firm in revenue, with some 29,000 employees. In May 2007, it committed to be carbon neutral by 2010 - the first realtor to announce such a goal. Mr. Creamer leads the Loan and Corporate Recovery initiative and has overall responsibility for the group’s Green Agenda in EMEA. He also heads the European Valuation Practice. A Member of RICS, he served on its Governing Council in 2007-2009 and has an MA in Geography and Land Economy from the University of Cambridge.

He is now the firm’s principal analyst and spokesperson with respect to macro-economic and related market issues for EMEA and a visiting professor at Birkbeck, University of London.

Formerly he spent over seven years at Goldman Sachs, founding its European Real Estate Advisory Team, and responsible, among others, for the ¤12bn Rodamco-Unibail merger, and the $1.4bn IPO of AFI. He holds an MSc in Economics from Erasmus University Rotterdam.

Projects include developing building energy efficiency data, UK schools energy league table, energy case studies, the world’s first global energy map and building energy smartphone application. Sr. Fernandes joined in 1997 as Project Manager of NorteShopping, subsequently becoming the centre’s General Manager. In 2000, he was appointed Asset Manager for Portugal. In 2002 he added Greece and Romania to his portfolio. Since 2008, when he took up his present responsibilities, he has overseen all Sonae Sierra’s real estate investments in Portugal and Spain. Ms. Gaujal-Kempler, a founder of INEA alongside Philippe Rosio and Alain Juliard, was previously MD of DIL France and prior to that worked in valuation and investments for brokers Auguste Thouard and Jones Lang Wooton in Paris. English by birth, she earned a BA in the 1980s from the University of London.

Advised by a team in Berlin, Activum has broad experience in turning around under-performing real estate and real estate operating companies. Prior to joining Cerberus, he was an investor at Cargill Financial Services in Minneapolis and Tokyo.

Mayland Real Estate is one of the largest retail real estate developers in central Europe, jointly owned by the French Casino group and Goldman Sachs’ Whitehall funds. With 25 years’ experience in the industry, he previously worked in the field of hypermarket development with Geant Polska and King Cross, and managed the commercial and mixed-use projects of a major French property developer.
